About Us

Who we are and what we do …

AMIGAS is the graduate student association in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. We host social, athletic, academic, and professional development type of events for all of our MIE graduate students, aiming to enrich their professional and personal leadership experiences.

How to get involved …

AMIGAS runs elections each year in April and a group of students nominate themselves to take responsibility as AMIGAS executive members for an academic year. So if you’re passionate about getting involved, remember to nominate yourself and run for your favorite position!

Also, throughout the year, other graduate students volunteer to help out AMIGAS executives with various events. So please contact us if you’d like to give us a hand for any event! AMIGAS usually holds two general meetings each year and all MIE graduate students are welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings and to share their wonderful ideas and suggestions with AMIGAS.
